Celebrating 30 Years in Business near Tulsa, OK
The team at Blind Ambitions is delighted to celebrate our 30th anniversary with our Tulsa community! It seems like we were just opening our doors for the first time only yesterday, but here we are, 10,950 days later, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
The Blind Ambitions blogging team had the chance to sit down with owner and founder Jenny Herman to discuss her thoughts on what it means to reach such a milestone. This anniversary is a significant event for us, so stick around and learn about a special anniversary gift from us to you!
Busy Beginnings
When Blind Ambitions began in 1992, the business was certainly a lot smaller - the team was still family owned - our founder Jenny Herman went on sales calls with her parents helping customers in our showroom.
“With countless hours of dedication and perseverance, the business began to thrive.” Jenny says. “When the new millennium rolled around, we had outgrown our storefront and moved to our current location across the street. We set a very high standard for our customer service and the quality of our products. This led to the distinction of becoming a Hunter Douglas Gallery dealer in 2004. Six years later, my wonderful parents had the opportunity to retire.”
And Looking Forward to The Years to Come
Providing the best in Hunter Douglas blinds, shades, shutters, and more powered by PowerView® Automation, Blind Ambitions has covered hundreds and hundreds of clients’ windows and become a part of the fabric of their lives and the Tulsa community.
When asked about the future, Jenny says, “Blind Ambitions has no plans to slow down anytime soon. I love living and doing business in Tulsa and am so grateful for the support Blind Ambitions receives from local homeowners. I’m looking forward to serving our previous long-time clients and many new people in the future.”
What is the Secret to Our Longevity?
Not many businesses make it past the first year or the fifth year - so thirty years of business is truly an outstanding accomplishment and a sign of how much care and work goes in to what we do.
Jenny Herman understands and sympathizes. “Over thirty years, we’ve seen many small businesses come and go while we continue to be a fixture in the Tulsa, OK, community. The secret to the success of Blind Ambitions is that there is no secret. We’ve had our bumps in the road over the years. We swerve around and keep on going.”
Would You Change Anything?
“There isn’t a single thing that I would change about the lifetime of Blind Ambitions,” Jenny replies. “We have always been blessed with many more good times than not. Books and webinars can teach you the fundamentals of running a business, but running a small business is truly a labor of love, and there’s no substitute for that. People take note when passion and purpose drive your endeavors.”
